If you are a borderline waist size, get the larger size. I’m normally a 34, went with a 36 and these are snug, as if they were my normal 34’s. I’m an athletic build and I like my jean a bit baggier than just ‘straight’, so that is where my issues lie with these jeans. Otherwise, for the price, they are worth it, especially for the protection they offer.

I bought 3DO CE 2 armor for the hips and knees. The hip pads feel good, but do add some tightness to the overall fitment around the waist and like others have said, the knee pad pockets sit low when walking, but when on the bike, they put the pads right over your knees, where they actually should be…now, if you go down, hopefully they will be there as well.

    Improvements:
    – baggier fit…these are riding jeans and having your “junk” getting squashed like grapes in a wine press, gets uncomfortable pretty fast…sorry ladies for the word picture.
    – an adjustable knee pad pocket, the velcro is a nice touch, but probably only works with certain pads, the 3DO pads don’t work with it. I’m sure you can modify the pocket to suit your needs though.
    – Hip pockets can twist when putting the jeans on, which lets the hip pad be reversed…2 simple stitches would remedy this.

Overall, if you want to get into some Kevlar lined riding jeans and don’t want to spend over $200+ like most other brands, these are well worth the investment if you can cope with the minor shortcomings. You can always skip the padding as well. I’ve only had them for a month or so, but I am happy to have some protective jeans and feel safer for it. I’m sure the “perfect” riding jean exists if you want to spend some serious coin, but for my $$, these are definitely worth the investment for what you get.

Picked up the wash color in 34’s. I’m a 32-33 in all other brands that make jeans for the waist size, this brand is too tight for the stated size. See my picture of the waistband compared to a Levi jeans with 33 waist, it’s about 2″ too short of a true 34 waist, the true waist size is probably 32″. The inseam measured 30 which is also too short for my 6’1″ frame. If I had got a 32, would be returning them. As is the 34’s just barely fit. Wash color is darker blue than the picture if that matters to you. Other than that, these will serve their purpose just fine for riding and I expect they will be durable and protect well in case of a slide.

I really want to like them but not sure I will keep them. I normally wear 37×32 in Duluth jeans and the length of the scorpion 38s is great for a riding position (Aprillia). Waist is a bit loose but comfortable and doesn’t show plumbers crack. There is enough thigh room for my athletic quads. So here is the bad , the crotch is tight/short, standing you see it all. The pockets are short so they don’t help with a quick rearrange ….the pockets for armor are also way too low. Writing it down ,I’m still on the fence..

These jeans really are pretty comfortable. The Cordura is much softer than I would’ve thought it could be considering its strength. The Kevlar liner is also not bad. I would say they also run small. I wear a 32″ waist and ended up needing to get the 34″ in these.

    HOWEVER

Like many others are saying, the placement of pad holders really suck. The hip pad pockets actually sit around my upper thigh, and the “knee” pocket might as well really be called shin guards. See attached photo. It half defeats the purpose of these jeans. I guess wearing these will likely keep all my skin attached so it can hold all the fragments of my shattered kneecaps if I wipe out and slide down the highway…

I am a pleasure motorcycle rider and always wear protective gear except that I wear jeans. I had a low speed accident with a deer and suffered road rash at my knee. I purchased these jeans which look and feel very good and I would rate them 5 on appearance, fit, and feel. When using the recommended Scorpion knee pads they sit too low even though they are at the top of the knee pocket with velcro. I have a 31 inseam and the jeans are 32. When sitting on the motorcycle if I pull the pant let the knee pads will sit over my knee. Once standing or straightening my knee they drop such that the top of the pad is below my knee cap. I doubt they will protect me should I have another event in the future. The pocket is designed such that you can’t move it. This is the reason I give these jeans a 4 star.

I was worried about the comfort on kevlar. These are great! Glad I purchased them.

I normally wear 30W to 32W jeans, and these Scorpion jeans size 32, fits like any other 32W jeans. I’m 6′ tall, and the cuffs touch the floor, and come up around my ankle while riding sport bike. Being 145 pounds, the thighs are plenty roomy. The cuff (measured flat) is 8″ across. Top to crotch seam is 11″. Comfy enough to ride in.

I have only worn these to and from work today. I can reinforce several things I read in other reviews. I felt the sizing was pretty good. If it’s a little cold in the morning it’s nice. When it’s 80 in the afternoon you feel like you are wearing two pairs of pants. For 18 years I mostly have just worn jeans. So I automatically feel more protected wearing them. Unless you want really BLUE jeans get the wash. It is actualy very slight not like the picture. I have not put any armour in them yet. From other reviews I am skeptical but hopeful. I am saving 5 star review dependent on armour fitment.
